New Addition to the Family!

Yesterday we welcomed a new addition into our family! Kalyn has asked about getting a cat for at least the past 2 years and we promised after our trips this summer we would get a cat. Yesterday I dropped her off at her art class and took Noah to the animal control center by the airport to see what they had. I figured we had to wait a day or so for them to do shots/spay and all of that. We found a cute calico that was very playful and was great in the visiting room with Noah and I. We were surprised they said she was already spayed and ready to go NOW! Needless to say, we had NOTHING at home for a cat yet so I took "Rainey" (a name Kalyn had picked out at least a year ago) to the petshop with Noah to get food, liter box, bed, etc while Daddy got Kalyn from her art class when it was done. Then when she got home she saw her surprise and she was very very surprised!! This is her about a minute after she saw the cat! She immediately said "There's Rainey!" when she saw the kitten!



We actually played with her about 30 min before supper and then managed to talk the kids into letting "Rainey" adjust to the house alone while we swam a little. (how we did that I have NO clue) but they were fine going to the pool while Rainey got the know the house :)

Kalyn has played with her all morning so far and Noah is more gentle today with her so that is good! She is only about 10 weeks old they think so really tiny :)

Just because....

These pictures are something to post "just because" I thought they were cute, no particular event. Kalyn just amazes me with her artistic ability which I can assure you she didnt get from me AT ALL! Here she wrote bambi and drew the photo just from looking at the cover of the book!



Noah LOVES to help cook or bake and every Saturday we make breakfast of some sort so here he is helping Daddy make sweet potatoe pancakes, YUMMY :)

Suttles Reunion

Last week we had a Suttles reunion where some of our family from Iowa and California came out to celebrate my G/G Suttles 70th wedding anniversary! We missed those that were not able to attend but had a great time visiting with those that could make it! Here is a group shot of everyone that came to the Carolinas!

The Cervantes Family from Iowa. Well actually Erin lives in California now! We missed their son Matt and his family, hope they are doing well up in Iowa!

Kalyn LOVED holding baby Sophie, and loves singing to her, talking and playing with her!

We saw Aunt Diane and Jeff the morning before they had to fly back to California again so Noah had to say goodbye to his pal!

David set up a studio in our home to get some shots of Sophie for Abby, here are just two good ones, she is just such a cutie pie :)

WALL-E

Today we enjoyed going to see the new movie WALL-E! We ate lunch at Chic-fil-a and the kids played there a bit before we headed over to the theatre. All four of us LOVED this movie so I suggest taking the kids to see it. All we can say is it was a wonderful story and we cant wait to buy the DVD when it comes out!!!

July 4th Weekend

We had a great 4th of July weekend. On the 4th our neighborhood had a parade followed by a cookout at the pool. We invited Nana to join us in the festivities. Here is the parade going around the neighborhood.

On July 5th we had a family cookout at our house and were happy that Abby and Sophie were able to come join us as well as other family members! Noah just LOVES babies and calls every baby he sees "sophie". You can see the excitement on his face to see Sophie :)

Kalyn loved just watching Sophie and laughed and laughed, it was entertainment for Sophie too!

I got to hold the baby a few minutes while her Mommy got her milk ready.....

After a delicious meal with hotdogs, hamburgers and many many sides and desserts everyone shared, we played outdoors. Dana and Derrick had fun swinging Noah.

We started fireworks early and lucky we did, we had enough for two hours so then the kids got to bed at almost 10 pm! (and got up at 6 am still which is why we have an early bedtime in general!!)

David was in control of setting off the show for all to see :)

Nana and Mama stayed to watch a few fireworks before they had to go and Dana and Derrick stayed for the whole show as did our neighbors! We had so much fun, thanks for the enjoyment!!
