Super Saturday

Today we enjoyed going to Carowinds for the first time this season. The kids keep asking to go so they were excited this morning and we enjoyed a few hours of rides this morning.

Kalyn rode her VERY first big rollercoaster today which has a big hill so I was very surprised she went on and wanted to go back twice more. They are in the very front here, you can see David there.

Noah loves riding the old time cars .....cheese :)

We returned home to eat a quick sandwich and then it was "mommy and Kalyn time" where we went to a parent and child class at supper sensations where we signed up to make 3 meals to take home, freeze and then can just put them in the oven when we want to have them for a meal. It was really fun and Kalyn loved helping to prepare the meals!

She was mixing the ingredients into the bowl and loved her little apron she could wear!

Then Kalyn was ready to come home and box with daddy!

Fun Friday

Friday was a very warm day here so we got to enjoy getting out and playing in the water again. Our friend with twin girls couldnt come since the girls werent feeling well but the kids wanted to get their pools out and have their own pool party as they called it. They spent at least 30 minutes just pouring buckets of water from one pool to the other, then they jumped from one pool to another and just had a ball!

They were so tired you can see what happened right after lunch. Yes this is Noah actually sleeping this way in "his chair", ha!

After his 45 minute nap like this our friend Melissa called and Tradd and Luke said they would love to come over and play since the kids wanted friends to play with! They are moving into our neighborhood in about a month too, whee!

The kids were so hot outside so enjoyed some popsicles...

Then Noah and Kalyn had to show the boys how to fill buckets of water up and started a water fight!

see what happened next, all the kids were just soaked and the water was VERY cold right from the hose!

Then we decided to get the sprinkler out for a few minutes before we got arrested, ha ha. There is still water restrictions in our area so we had to keep it short but they had fun :)

Gymnastics

Kalyn and Caroline (her cousin) are in the same gymnastic class with about 5 other kids. They let us take pictures this past week so we got some cute ones of the girls showing us what they do with their class.

They are hanging on the bars and Caroline can flip herself all the way over now.

At the end of each class they get to climb the rope and some make it to the very top to ring a bell.

Kalyn is just now starting to get higher up on the rope, way to go Kalyn!!

Big Kids!

Well Kalyn has been wearing pull ups only at night but for the past 3 weeks has been totally dry after she wakes so we tried not wearing any to see what happens and so far she has gone without them for 3 nights and stayed dry. She says she is a big girl now so doesnt need them anymore! That is our girl!!! And Noah did poo poo on the potty twice so far, I had to rush him to it but he did, that is a big step for us. He was excited to get a cupcake for going!!!

From Collard Greens to beyond!

Today Noah wanted to be my little helper. I was preparing Collard Greens today which we will eat for supper. Now for you all that arent southern folk, they are similar to fresh spinage yet so much better. David makes the best collards and I am trying out his recipe. Noah helped me first by washing all the leaves at least 3 times. He enjoyed washing the "lettuce" as he called it and as you can see he is wearing big boy underware as we are potty training so just goes around in them all the time. Much easier to change them then the whole outfit when we are home!

He only got himself and the whole floor under him wet, not too bad for his first time :)

I had to cut up all the greens afterwards and since Noah was pretty much soaked after helping wash the greens and washing dishes in the sink, why not just get him nude and put him IN the sink. Yes, it was my idea and he loved it. He thinks his mommy is silly!!

Noah kept thinking the stems of the collard greens were "pickles" which he loves so of course what would top this whole crazy morning off but a pickle in the sink!

Noah has had trouble in the past with anger and hitting so we took advice from someone to get something he IS allowed to hit and he and Kalyn love the bozo clown that came today in the mail...

Well maybe you all thought we were crazy with the Gremlin video so hope you arent REALLY scared of us now, or maybe you want to come join in the fun at the Huntley House, ha ha :)

Papa's video

David made this memorial video to play at Papas visitation last night which is a great keepsake.

Rest in Peace Papa!

David's grandpa, his moms father, passed away April 1st at 88 years of age. He had two wonderful grandkids, David and his sister Dana, along with two great grandkids, Kalyn and Noah! We will miss him so much, however we have shared many special memories with him to keep with us forever.

Here is Papa holding Noah at just a few days old. They would visit regularly during Noahs Colicky days and he could calm him down!

I would take the kids to visit Mama and Papa usually at least once a month during the week. He liked to get on the floor and do puzzles and play with the kids!

We have been lucky enough to go to the beach with them for the past several years which has been a wonderful fun filled week with the family.
