Fire House

Kalyn's preschool had a field trip to a fire house. Luckily since I am not working anymore I got to go with her while Grandma (my mom) stayed with Noah :) They talked about fire safety, showed how to drop and roll and feel the door with the back of your hand, not your palm, to see if the door is hot. We had a lot of fun and learned a lot!

Kalyn and Tradd, one of her closest friends since birth whom just happens to be moving into our neighborhood this summer, yeah! This is one of the small cubbys the firemen sleep in, has the bed and desk with tv/DVD player. They had about 12 of these cubbys in one big room.

even a big workout room!



Kalyn enjoyed climbing inside of the firetruck as well, cant you just see her excitement :)

Play Time!

The kids got out yesterday since it was SO nice outside here! Kalyn was so excited that now she knows how to swing all by herself without a push too, we are so proud of her! She said "Daddy showed me how and told me that you have to just wait until the wind blows a little bit to start pushing you " ..... ha ha, cute!

Noah just enjoyed the sandbox or rather pouring almost all the sand out of the sandbox and going down the slide too....

Big Boy Bed!

UPDATE: Noah has so far slept in the bed with NO PROBLEMS since!!!!!
He got to pick out a few toys at toys r us for sleeping good in the bed and finishing his sticker chart as well which he was excited about. He has not taken naps since but if he does good at night that is fine!!!

Noah has a twin bed in his room now and we got a set of sheets/comforter called "space out" he liked so he would get excited about his new big boy bed. His crib is still in the room but he doesnt want in the crib, he wants to be in the bed. We had a TOUGH night on Saturday when he went in there and slept two hours, then kept coming out for the next 45 min, then finally stayed in bed but screamed another 30 minutes until punishment was to go in the crib that night. Last night we moved his bed where the crib used to be and he actually slept all night in the bed, didnt come out til 7 am! So keep your fingers crossed he continues to do well... we need prayers for that!

This bed is actually the one my dad used when he was growing up so it is very neat that Noah can sleep in the same bed his grandpa did! He is holding his "rocket pillow" here that goes with the set. Above you can see the "moon pillow" he has as well.

4 Birthdays to Celebrate

We headed over to David's grandparents Sunday for supper (the Freemans) to celebrate 4 birthdays. Sunday was actually David's mothers birthday (nana) and her twin brothers (Barry). We also celebrated David and my birthday since they are around the same time of year.... We ate a delicious supper of stuffed chicken, pork loin, veggies, pie and cake, etc... The kids loved playing and we all had a great visit with eachother.

Cousin Caroline turns 6 years old and More Snow!

Caroline turned 6 so we all go together for a party at her house. Abby and baby Sophie didnt drive down due to snowy conditions and a long drive so we missed them! We had a good lunch with everyone and lots of play time for the kids. Lonnies sister Jeanie has 3 girls and a boy so there were 8 kids total!

Kalyn enjoyed playing with Logans robot dinosaur he got for xmas that walks around like a real dog so its kind of scary :)

All the kids LOVED the chic fil a chicken nuggets and fruit, chips and dip and mac and cheese!

Great Grandma and Grandpa were ready to pose with their great grand kids but Noah wouldnt sit again so he isnt here...

THEN.... More snow after the party! It started snowing at the party but since it had rained that morning it was pretty much just turning to slush and melting. However, when we got home, the kids enjoyed catching snowflakes in their mouth!

Later on that afternoon Daddy took the kids back out to throw snowballs from Mr snowman that was headless in the front yard and just enjoy the last of the falling snow. Again we were the ONLY ones out on our street! We couldnt keep our kids in if we tried, they sat at the window looking out for hours before this!

First Snow of 2008!!

We woke up this morning to see snow coving the ground which is something we rairly see around here. Kalyn and Noah screamed with delight when we showed them and Kalyn was especially excited that her school was closed for the day due to the snow. We ate a big breakfast of eggs, turkey bacon, grits and biscuits before heading out to enjoy the snow and before it melted! It was raining the whole time we were out but the kids didnt care about that at all!

Daddy enjoyed making a snowman with the kids! We were the only ones out in the snow, not even any other children were out playing this morning even though all schools were delayed or closed... that was strange we thought! Oh well... our kids had a ball!!!

Daddy did have to go to work two hours late so we enjoyed having hot chocolate, snacks, and getting warm again. Kalyn enjoyed building the lincoln log house and Noah enjoyed playing with his trains and little people. Notice the snow behind Noah outside and on the slide!!

The kids noticed later the snow was melting and Kalyn said "I know, we can go out and PUNCH the snowman to make more snow!!!" of course Noah said "lets go punch him, lets punch him!" Funny kids!!

Best Buddies!

Kalyn and Noah are really doing well lately playing together as you can see. Sometimes Noah just likes to watch Kalyn while she plays. He just had to rest while she continued... since playing is hard work!


"Now what does she want me to do with these bob the builder guys?"

"can he fix it?? yes he can!"

"We actually seem to enjoy boxes more than a lot of our toys... dont tell mommy and daddy its cheaper that way! Shhhhhh"

"One sunday afternoon we had to just lay by the wood burning fireplace and enjoy the afternoon being in a warm blanket and doing nothing.... that was hard work!"

Noah surprised Mommy the other day, he actually loves drinking v8 juice with a straw!!! Guess anything called "juice" will make them try it, ha ha!

So, as you can see, Kalyn and Noah have been just SO busy from playing with toys, playing in boxes and laying by the fire!! It is hard to be a kid!!!

Supper at the Cabrie' House

Saturday night we went to eat supper and Joy and Danny Cabrie's house. Betsy and Bruce also came over since they are in town for a few weeks and all the children got to play which was nice. We enjoyed Dannys wonderful smoked BBQ he spent all day cooking out and Joys wonderful baked beans, slaw, biscuits and even banana pudding and pie for dessert too! Thanks so much Joy and Danny :)

All of the children enjoyed eating for about 5 minutes before they were ready to get down and play of course.. and boy did they have a great time with all the toys and games!

Lindsay enjoyed following me around which was sweet!! Noah and Lori also had a great time playing so well together!

Kalyn was so having so much fun that night she didnt want to go home!!!
